CLINTON, NY (February 14, 2026) -- The No. 11 Tufts University men's squash team, seeded No. 2 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championships this weekend at Hamilton College, earned a quarterfinal win over No. 20 and seventh-seeded Bowdoin College Saturday 8-1 in action from Little Squash Courts.
The Jumbos struck first at No. 7, where
Aarav Gill was clinical from the opening rally, dispatching Sachith Vissapragada in straight games to set the tone.
At No. 6,
Mustafa Ayaz followed with an authoritative four-game win over Luc Agudelo, punctuated by a dominant 11-0 closing game.
Tufts made it 3-0 as
Jared Chin controlled the middle of the court throughout a straight-games victory against Jai Karande at No. 5.
At the top of the ladder, Santiago Carrillo extended the lead with a poised four-game win over Fotis Zafiriou, responding to a second-game setback with sharp attacking play. Momentum continued at No. 8, where
Ali Tarek pulled away after a tight opener to defeat Ronak Nagar in three.
The clinching point arrived at No. 4.
Milo Friedman rebounded from an opening-game loss to win three straight against Will Maschler, sealing the team victory at 6-0.
Bowdoin earned its lone point in a five-game battle at No. 9, where Ben Korengold edged
Shivin Kumar in a tightly contested match.
Tufts closed out the afternoon with two more strong performances.
Rohan Valia was sharp in straight games over Aryan Singh at No. 3, and
Nachiket Desai capped the match with a gritty five-game victory against Liam Waldron at No. 2.
With the win, Tufts (11–5, No. 11 nationally) advances to face Williams College in the NESCAC semifinals at 9 a.m. at Hamilton College. The winner of that match will take on the winner of No. 1 seed Trinity College and No. 5 seed Colby College at 4 p.m. in the NESCAC title match Sunday.
