MALDEN, MA (February 28, 2026) – Ephs' netminder Harrison Fogel collected 31 saves on 32 shots to give Williams College a 3-1 victory over Tufts University in the NESCAC quarterfinals game at the Malden Valley Forum.
Williams advanced to the conference semifinals where they will face No. 9 ranked Bowdoin College. With the loss, the Jumbos' season comes to an end with an overall record of 12-12-1.
Tufts reached the scoreboard first with a textbook two-on-one tally from
Trace Norwell with 1:59 remaining in the opening period. After a defensive zone clear from
Jameson Klein,
Cole Dubicki used his speed to get past an Ephs' defender with the puck and dished it to Norwell in the high slot for a one-timer that found the bottom left corner of the goal.
The Ephs tied the game at 1 one 7:05 into the middle frame with a goal from Conner Fitzpatrick. With the puck inside the Tufts' defensive zone, Brady Welsch shoved a pass up the far boards to Connor Berg, Berg fired a shot towards goal, and Fitzpatrick finished off the rebound.
Williams tacked on one more goal in the second period with 7:28 left to go. On the zone entry, Jake McManus left a drop pass for Welsch, Welsch took a shot that missed the net and went right to Jackson Krill, who wristed a shot towards an unexpecting
Gus Bylin and beat him over the shoulder.
Gates Omicioli gave the Ephs a 3-1 lead with 16:55 remaining in regulation. After forcing a neutral zone turnover, David Vieten carried the puck through the neutral zone, left a pass for Omicioli after entering the zone, and Omicioli found an opening over the glove of Bylin.
Shots finished 32-21 in favor of Williams. Bylin registered 19 saves in the contest. Both teams failed to capitalize on multiple power play opportunities. Tufts finished 0 for 4, while the Ephs went 0 for 3 on the man advantage.
The Jumbos finished the season with 12 total wins.
