Dunn Announced as Academic All- America® Honoree in Women's Swimming & Diving

MEDFORD, MA (April 28, 2026) - Tufts University senior Madeleine Dunn has earned national recognition for her athletic and academic achievements by being named to the 2025-26 Academic All- America® women's swimming & diving teams announced by College Sports Communicators today.

Dunn is an Academic All- America® third team honoree in Division III, where just 24 total swimmers and divers from across the country were selected. The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the pool and in the classroom. Dunn is one of just three individuals from the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) on the teams.

A biopsychology major from Austin, Texas with a 3.73 grade point average, Dunn is a three-year NESCAC All-Academic Team member for carrying a grade point average of 3.50 or higher. Also a College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American three times (2023-25), she has worked as a Research Assistant in the Neurovascular Research Unit of the Department of Radiology at Massachusetts General Hospital.

In the pool, Dunn had an outstanding senior season this year. At the NCAA Division III Championships, she earned All-American honors in four events with three top-eight finishes in the 1650 freestyle (third), 500 freestyle (fifth) and 400 individual medley (eighth). She was also selected as the NESCAC Swimmer of the Year, the first member of the Tufts women's team to earn the honor. She won NESCAC championships in the 500, 1000 and 1650 freestyles, and broke school records in the 400 IM and the 1650 freestyle at the conference championship meet.

A four-year All-American who earned the national honor in 12 events overall (five first team), she was also a seven-time conference champion who won the NESCAC Career High Point Award at the 2026 championship meet for her four-year accomplishments at the meet. Named NESCAC Rookie of the Year in 2023, Dunn owns four school records overall, including the 500 and 1000 freestyles.

In the community, Dunn is a swim lesson instructor for local children at Tufts. She also participates with Team IMPACT, which matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating long-term, life-changing experiences.
