MEDFORD, MA (September 15, 2026) – The No. 18 ranked Tufts University men's soccer team delivered two quick strikes just over four minutes into the match to cruise to a 3-0 home non-conference victory versus UMass Boston.
 
The Jumbos (3-1-0, 2-1-0 NESCAC) started off hot and focused and put the Beacons (3-2-0, 0-0 LEC) on their heels, as they found the back of the net on their first shot towards goal of the contest. After a Xavier Canfin shot resulted in a corner kick, Canfin sent in an accurate ball that found Ben Pensky on the back post, Pensky then guided a header towards the opposite side of the net for his first of the season.
 
Tufts did not take their foot off the gas there as they tacked on another goal just 32 second later to boost their advantage to two goals. As the Jumbos maintained possession in the UMass Boston zone, Ethan Jett delivered a low cross that found Gianluca Fallone, Fallone relayed a pass to Henry Brown, who tapped home his second of the season. Fallone gathered his first point of the season with the helper.
 
The Jumbos entered halftime with a noticeable six to one advantage in corner kick opportunities, while Tufts also led with five shots compared to four from UMass Boston.
 
The Blue and Brown opened the second still trying to increase their lead as they tallied four shot attempts and four corner kicks in the first six minutes. The pressure eventually led to another Jumbo marker from Brown for his second of the day. William Cornug put a set piece from near midfield into the box, Ben Brown chested the ball towards Brown, and Brown found the right side of the goal with his left foot.
 
Nikola Antic stopped two shots on goal, while Brown and Canfin led the shot department with seven total attempts between the two of them. JJ Devine racked up five saves for the Beacons.
 
The Jumbos enter the third game of their six-game home-stand on Saturday with a NESCAC matchup scheduled with Connecticut College at 2:30 PM.
