Eric Ashe



Eric Ashe joined the Tufts cross country and track and field teams in the summer of 2023, and will serve as the Head Distance Coach for both squads. 

For the past 3 years, Ashe served as a coach at Wellesley High School in Wellesley, MA. The Raiders were consistently a top team in the state. Prior to his time at WHS, he was the Head Coach at Simmons University from August 2014 through December 2019. While with the Sharks, he supervised all aspects of the program while earning 2017 Great North Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2017. 

He also served as an assistant coach at his alma mater Division I Boston University from 2011-2014 where he helped multiple athletes reach All-American status. 


Ashe graduated in 2010 with a B.S. in international relations and a Master of Criminal Justice in 2012. While at BU, he ran 4:03 in the mile, was a conference champion in the steeplechase, conference runner-up in cross-country, and a 4 time MVP for the Terriers. Since graduating from BU, Ashe qualified for the 2016 and 2020 USA Olympic Trials Marathon by running 2:17 in the marathon during both Olympic cycles.
