PRIOR TO TUFTS: Attended Deering High School in Portland, Maine, where he competed in varsity cross country, track & field and nordic skiing...A senior co-captain of both the cross country and track & field teams, he enjoyed a standout career highlighted by multiple state championship performances...He captured the indoor 2-mile and outdoor 3,200-meter state championships as a junior, then repeated as the 3,200-meter state champion as a senior while also earning runner-up honors in the indoor mile and finishing second at the cross country state championships...He posted personal-best times of 4:19 in the mile, 9:12 in the 3,200 meters and 15:50 in the 5K. In the classroom, he graduated as valedictorian.

PERSONAL: Parents Heather and David Wood...one brother, Aidan...mother Heather ran track and field at Williams College...mother is MA Class of 2001 at Tufts...aunt Heidi Moore Fisher '97 and grandfather Fred Moore '68 also attended Tufts...mechanical engineering major...chose Tufts over Brown and Duke "because it felt like a good fit academically, socially, and athletically."
