Erick Kainen has joined the Tufts Hockey coaching staff as goalie coach for the 2019-20 season.

Since September 2008 Kainen has been a Coaching Clinic Coordinator and National Camp Goalie Coach for USA Hockey. For the past year he has also worked as a New England scout for the Madison Capitols Hockey Club of the United States Hockey League.

Kainen is a history teacher at nearby Everett High School, where he was also the head hockey coach from 2016-18.

A 2008 graduate of Arcadia University, Kainen earned a Master's degree in education from Eastern Nazarene College in 2016.
