Matt Johnson is in his second season on the Tufts University hockey coaching staff. Johnson is a 2011 graduate of Salem State College where he scored 10 goals and 10 assists in two seasons with the Vikings.

From 2012-14, he was head coach of the Islanders Hockey Club in the US Premier Hockey League, while also serving as an assistant on the USPHL Elite team. Most recently he was the Assistant Director of hockey for the Nevada Storm and Assistant Coach of the Las Vegas Storm in the Western States Hockey League. During his coaching career he has also worked at Elite Hockey, Dynamic Skating and the New England Development Program.

In additon to being on the Tufts staff, he is also a skills coach for the North Suburban Wings and CN Hockey.
