Eric Nordenson

Eric Nordenson was hired as an assistant coach with the Tufts men's soccer team in 2020.

In his first season  with Coach Nordenson on the sideline in 2021, the Jumbos earned a 15-2-4 overall record, won the NESCAC championship and made an NCAA Tournament "Elite 8" appearance.

Nordenson came to Medford after spending the previous 14 seasons as an assistant under current Tufts head coach Kyle Dezotell at Norwich University for ten years, one season at Manhattanville College, as well as three seasons with Dezotell at Ithaca College. Together, the pair led the Norwich Cadets to a 130-63-18 (.659) record, the 2008 GNAC Tournament title and the 2007 ECAC New England Championship. Under their guidance, Norwich reached at least the semifinals of the GNAC Tournament in all 10 seasons and also recorded nine ECAC New England Tournament appearances over that span. Nordenson helped Ithaca College to a program record 14 wins in 2018 and an NCAA Tournament Second Round appearance in 2019 as well as a national ranking as high as #8.

He played college soccer at Castleton State College from 1991-94 while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in criminal justice.

Nordenson began his coaching career in 1995 as an assistant coach at his alma mater where the Spartans compiled a record of 14-3-1 and were the Mayflower Conference champions. In 1996, Nordenson moved to Northeastern University as the first assistant coach for one of the finest Huskies' teams in school history. He was also a high school varsity head coach and spent two seasons as an assistant coach at NCAA Division II Saint Michael's College before moving on to Norwich in 2006.
