Mark Waterman




Mark Waterman was hired as assistant coach of the Tufts University men's soccer team in July 2020. He returned to the Jumbos after spending the previous three seasons at Holy Cross. Waterman had been an assistant at Tufts in 2015 and 2016, including helping the Jumbos win their second NCAA championship in 2016. In the summer of 2023, Waterman was promoted to Associate Head Coach. 

Last year during the team's first season of game action with Coach Waterman on the sideline, the Jumbos earned a 15-2-4 overall record, won the NESCAC championship and made an NCAA Tournament "Elite 8" appearance.

At Holy Cross, Waterman helped the Crusaders advance to the Patriot League Championship Game in 2017. At Tufts, he was a part of the 2015 staff that guided the team to an NCAA Sweet 16 appearance. When the team won the Div. III National Championship in 2016, Waterman was a part of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America Coaching Staff of the Year.

Waterman played four years at Denison University as a midfielder. He received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in economics at Denison in 2015 and a Master's in sports leadership from Northeastern University in 2017. At Denison, he played in 67 games and tallied 57 points on 25 assists and 16 goals. Waterman served as a captain his senior year and was a three-time All-Conference player. His 25 assists rank second all-time at Denison.
