2021-2022 (Junior): Set two season best times at the MIT Invitational, coming in 6th in the 200 Freestyle Final...Set season best in 100 Freestyle Final at BU Winter Open.

2020-2021 (Sophomore): No meets or invitationals except for end of season Jumbo Invitational...Came in 1st in 200 Freestyle at Jumbo Invitational.

2019-2020 (Freshman): Set a season best time at MIT Invitational while also coming in 4th place in the 200 Freestyle Final...Competed in NESCAC Championships while setting 4 personal bests and scoring 29 points.

Before Tufts: Was on the swimming team at Henry M. Gunn High School...was the winner of the Cardinal Award on his club team...selected as the Titan Award winner for his high school team...was named an All-American in 2017 and 2019...earned a Seal of Biliteracy. 

Personsal: Son of Sheila Melvin and Jindong Cai...has one sibling, Cecilia (17).
