Adam Batista joined the Tufts men's soccer staff as an assistant coach in the summer of 2024. In his first two seasons in Medford, the Jumbos compiled a 32-1-9 record.

In 2025, the program won its fifth NCAA Division III National Championship and fourth NESCAC Championship following a 20-1-3 campaign. In both 2024 and 2025, the Jumbos earned the No. 1 seed in the NESCAC Tournament after finishing atop the conference regular season standings.

Since 2024, three players have earned All-America honors, five have earned All-Region honors, and nine have earned All-NESCAC honors.

Led by head coach Kyle Dezotell, the Tufts staff was named the United Soccer Coaches National Coaching Staff of the Year in 2025 and the NESCAC Coaching Staff of the Year in 2024.

Batista arrived at Tufts after serving as an assistant coach at Stanford University during the 2023 campaign. The Cardinal advanced to the NCAA Division I Quarterfinals. Prior to Stanford, he spent the 2022 season as an assistant coach at Boston University, where the Terriers finished second in Patriot League play.

Batista also spent four seasons with the Brandeis men's soccer program, including the final two as associate head coach. During his tenure, the Judges reached the 2017 NCAA Division III Final Four and averaged 10 wins per season. He joined the Brandeis staff following two seasons at Wheaton College (MA).

Throughout his coaching career, Batista has coached six MLS SuperDraft selections, one MLS Homegrown signing, and five additional players who have signed professional contracts.

A 2014 graduate of Middlebury College, Batista was a team captain as a senior. He earned a master's degree in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University Irvine and holds the United Soccer Coaches Advanced National Diploma and Goalkeeper Level 1 Diploma.
