Nick Roberto

Nick Roberto joined the Tufts University men’s hockey program this year. Roberto comes from Suffolk University after three years coaching the defensemen and running the power play for the Rams. During his time at Suffolk, he was the head recruiter for the program. He helped coach the team to its first winning record since 2014-15 and hosted their first home playoff game.

Additionally, Roberto has been working with players on an individual level as the head instructor at the Holland Hockey Academy in Woburn, Massachusetts since 2019.

A Massachusetts native, Roberto was a standout forward at Boston University from 2013-2017, winning the Terriers’ Unsung Hero Award his senior year. During his time on Commonwealth Ave, Roberto helped the Terriers qualify for three NCAA Tournaments including a 2014 Frozen Four appearance that saw the Terriers skate against the Providence College Friars in the 2014 championship contest. He was a Beanpot Champion in 2014.

Before his collegiate career, Roberto was named the Prep Hockey Player of the Year in 2013 while playing for Kimball Union Academy (KUA). Additionally, he won the MVP award in the Flood/Marr Holiday Tournament in 2012, becoming the first KUA player to win the award since 1975. He also helped KUA win the NEPSIHA Small School title by scoring the overtime winner in the championship game. Before KUA, Roberto led the Malden Catholic Lancers to the 2011 Super 8 title.
