NEW LONDON, Conn. - Senior Audrey Almey (Portland, OR) buried a
header 5:44 into the second half to lead the Tufts University
women's soccer team to a 2-1 victory against Connecticut College
Wednesday.
The Jumbos improve to 7-2-2 with a 5-1-1 record in the NESCAC.
They move into first place with the win. The Camels fall to 4-4-3
and 0-4-3 in league play.
Junior Alix Michael
(Mercer Island, WA) scored her third goal of the season in the win
for the Jumbos. Connecticut College sophomore Ali McKeigue
(Arlington, MA) netted her third marker of the season for the
hosts.
Rookie netminder Kristin

made five saves in the victory for the visitors. Kirsten Manville
(Fairfax, VA) stopped four shots for Connecticut College.
The Camels opened the scoring in the 36th minute of
action. McKeigue was able to beat her defender at the left side and
rifled home a 20-yard blast into the upper right portion of the
netting.
However, Michael scored the equalizer with 1:18 remaining in the
first half. Early on in the second stanza, the Jumbos took the lead
for good in the 51st minute of play. Junior Jamie

to the center of the box and Almy re-directed it with a header that
found the back of the net for the visitors.
The Camels had one last bid to tie the game in the
86th minute of action. McKeigue played a through ball
ahead to Katelyn Driscoll (Peabody, MA). Driscoll broke free in a
one-on-one situation, but Wright was able to make a diving stab to
preserve the victory for the visitors.

NESCAC game beginning at 12:30 pm. The Camels will visit
