Junior Alyse Vinosky had one of the four Tufts wins in the #5 match

WATERVILLE, Maine -- Penny Kagan fought from behind twice in the eighth position match to win in five and first spot player Kate Pistel won in three games to power the 20th-ranked Colby College women's squash team to a 5-4 win against 24th-ranked Tufts University on Friday at the Dunaway Squash Courts.
Kagan fell behind after the first and third games against Tufts sophomore Risa Meyers (New York, NY), but closed out strong with 11-1 and 11-4 victories to pull out the important victory. Pistel had an easier time of it at the first position with an 11-6, 11-9, 11-6 win against Alix Michael (Mercer Island, WA).
Molly Parsons earned her 10th win of the season at the second spot for Colby (6-10). Lily Greenberg and Ellie Hoyt had the other wins for the Mules.
Tufts junior co-captain Mercedes Barba (New York, NY) had a five-game win at the third position, taking a back-and-forth match with an 11-5 final in the fifth. Jumbo sophomore Jessica Rubine (Cranston, RI) also won in five at the fourth spot, earning three straight victories after dropping the first two games. Sophomore Ushashi Basu (Darien, CT) also came back from down 2-0 to win in five games at the six spot. Junior Alyse Vinosky (West Hartford, CT) took the fifth position match in three games for the Jumbos.
The Jumbos fell to 5-9 with the close loss.
