Senior tri-captain Phoebe Hanley started in goal and recorded a shutout

SOMERVILLE – The Tufts University Jumbos and the Endicott College Gulls fought to a 0-0 draw in non-league women's soccer play on Tuesday afternoon at Kraft Field.
After the tie, Tufts is now 3-5-3 on the year while Endicott is 7-4-2.
The Jumbos outshot the Gulls in the first half, 5-4, forcing Endicott sophomore keeper Katie Donnelly (Madison, CT) to make two saves. On the other side of the field, Tufts senior keeper Phoebe Hanley (Mamaroneck, NY) made one stop. Tufts also had two chances on cornerkicks in the first half while the Gulls did not attempt one.
Tufts had five shots on goal in the second half including a chance from junior Anya Kaufmann (Evergreen, CO) in the 66th minute. The Gulls had three shots on goal that forced saves by Hanley, and another shot by junior Heather Moody (Dunstable, MA) that sailed over the crossbar in the 89th minute.
In the first minute of the first overtime period Tufts had a pair of chances go wide of the net from junior Sophie Wojtasinski (Duxbury, MA) and first-year Sydney Griffith (Boca Raton, FL). Donnelly made three saves overall in the first 10 minutes of overtime including one in the final minute on a shot by first-year Allie Weiller (Katonah, NY).
In the first 30 seconds of the second overtime Endicott senior Micaela Hogan (Salisbury, MA) threw a shot quickly on net that Hanley made the save on. Tufts received a corner in the waning seconds, but could not take advantage. The Jumbos had all five corner-kick opportunities in the match.
Hanley finished with five saves while Donnelly notched 10. Tufts finished with a 17-11 shot advantage.
The Jumbos return to NESCAC action on Saturday with a 12 pm kickoff at Williams. Endicott plays Commonwealth Coast Conference foe Western New England on Saturday at 1:30 pm.
