Senior tri-captain Kendall Lord had 17 kills and 13 digs in the final match of her career

NEW LONDON, CT - The third-seeded Bowdoin College Polar Bears earned a 3-0 victory against the sixth-seeded Jumbos of Tufts University in the quarterfinal round of the NESCAC Championshp played at Connecticut College on Friday night.
The defending NESCAC Champs posted 25-17, 25-19 and 25-15 wins en route to the blanking. Bowdoin improves to 27-3 with the win, while the Jumbos fall to 13-13.
Christy Jewett (Sunnyvale, CA) buried nine kills with just two errors on 14 attempts, registering a .500 hitting percentage for the winning side. Melissa Haskell (Medfield, MA) chipped in with eight kills and 13 digs while senior Hillary Cederna (Cumberland, ME) added seven kills and eight digs for Bowdoin.
Junior setter Sophia Cornew (Portola Valley, CA) continued her torrid stretch of play with a match-high 29 assists to go with six digs and four kills.
Tufts University sophomore Kelly Brennan (Burr Ridge, IL) tallied five kills and five digs in the match. Senior tri-captain Natalie Bruck (Inverness, IL) finished with a match-high 14 digs while junior Virginia Clay (Santa Clara, CA) added 13 digs in the setback.
Senior setter Kendall Lord (La Jolla, CA) posted a double-double with 17 assists and 11 digs for Tufts.
The Polar Bears advance to the semi-finals, where they will play #2 seed Middlebury on Saturday at 3:30 pm.
