BRUNSWICK, ME - Traveling to the Maine Event round robin tournament on Saturday, the Tufts women's squash team lost 9-0 to host Bowdoin in their opening match.
In the January 20 Dunlop Women's College Squash Team Rankings, Tufts is the #25 team and Bowdoin is #17.
The Polar Bears won all nine individual matches over the Jumbos in three games. Tufts sophomore Ann Bellinger (Arlington, VA) put up a good fight against Michaela Martin from Bowdoin in the #3 match, which ended with scores of 13-11, 11-6, and 11-9. Senior Risa Meyers (New York, NY) also scored more than 20 points in her #5 match.
The Jumbos (2-6) travel to Colby on Sunday for a Maine Event match against the Mules.
