WILLIAMSTOWN – Sophomore Paget Stanco (Rye, NY) gave her Williams counterpart all she could handle, but the Jumbos fell to Williams in women's squash action on Sunday. The Jumbos lost, 9-0, completing their opening weekend of play.
Stanco took her opening game against William's Caroline Sawin, 10-12 before dropping the second game 11-4. Stanco then won the third game 7-11, but fell in the fourth and fifth games, 11-6 and 11-7, respectively.
Freshman Lynn Cheng (Singapore) put up 11 points across three games in the number two flight, but was unable to top her Wililams counterpart. In the number three position junior Ann Bellinger (Arlington, VA) gave Ellen Coombe a fight losing 12-10, 11-3, 11-3.
The Ephs were pretty dominant in the fourth through eighth positions, winning in three games in all positions. They won in the ninth position by default.
The Jumbos don't have much of a break, as they return to action on Tuesday when they take on Northeastern at 8:00 pm.
