Ty Enos recorded a top 20 finish for Tufts

WATERFORD, CT - Sophomore Ty Enos of the Tufts Men's Cross Country team was 19th out of 295 runners at the eight-kilometer Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday.

Enos posted a time of 25:55 at the Harkness State Park course to lead the five Jumbo scorers. Tufts placed 11th as a team with a 269 total, finishing among the top half in the 26-team field despite resting several of their top runners.

Behind Enos for Tufts was sophomore John Greenberg, whose 26:33 flat was 55th overall. Freshmen scored in the third through fifth spots for the Jumbos. Dylan Jones was the third Tufts scorer crossing the finish line in 26:38.9 for 60th place. Colin Raposo (26:45.8) was fourth for Tufts and 66th overall and Tom Doyle (26:53.7) scored fifth for the Jumbos and was 77th overall.

Doyle edged freshman teammate James Gregoire by a hair at the finish line. Freshman Hiroto Watanabe also ran for Tufts, timing 26:58.4.

MIT won the meet in convincing fashion with their 49 score. Carleton College, attending the race from Michigan, had the top individual performer as Hart Hornor ran a 24:32.1 winning time.

The Jumbos are idle next weekend before beginning the championship season at the New England Small College Athletic Conference race hosted by Wesleyan on October 31.
