Box Score MEDFORD - Tufts sophomore catcher Raven Fournier hit a sacrifice fly scoring Christina Raso as the Tufts softball team came from behind to win 4-3 over Trinity in a NESCAC East game on Friday at Spicer Field.
The Jumbos trailed 3-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth before scoring single runs in the sixth and eighth to win. Tufts improved to 14-6 overall and 7-0 with their 56th straight win in the division. The Bantams fell to 13-7 and 6-2.
With the game tied 3-3 heading into extas, Trinity's Erica Merullo reached on an error leading off the eighth. However, Jumbo stater Erica County retired the next three hitters. Raso drew a one-out walk for the Jumbos in the bottom of the eighth, took third on a walk to Raina Galbiati and a base hit by Summer Horowitz, and then scored on Fournier's relatively shallow fly ball to left.
Galbiati was critical towards getting Tufts into extra innings. The Jumbos had taken a 2-0 lead with single runs in the second and third. Galbiati walked and scored on a double by Christian Cain in the second. Galbiati then singled home Michelle Chisdak, who reached on a fielder's choice, in the third.

The Bantams did not have a runner reach third other than in that inning.
Galbiati was in the middle of the tying run for Tufts in the sixth, leading off with a double. She went to third on an error and scored on a double-play ball to even the game at 3-3. Neither team threatened in the seventh.
