MEDFORD, MA (May 26, 2026) - Three Tufts University players have received recognition on the 2026 Academic All-District® Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
The Jumbos receiving the honor are seniors
Lauryn Horita,
Haley Leimbach and
Kaitlyn Perucci. Horita earns the honor for the second straight year.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at her current institution. Field players must have appeared in at least 90 percent of the team's games or have started at least 66 percent of the games.
All three of these players graduated from Tufts on May 17, 2026. Horita earned a Bachelor of Science degree in biology, Leimbach graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering and Perucci received a Bachelor of Science degree in biopsychology.

Lauren Ebstein's 2026 Tufts team. The Jumbos won 31 games, earned the #1 seed for the New England Small College Athletic Conference regular season and hosted an NCAA Regional at Spicer Field.
The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Select Academic All-District® recipients advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced June 16, 2026.
