Tufts now has a 3-0-2, 2-0-1 NESCAC record while taking their second tie in 2016. The Cardinals ended the game at 2-2-1, 2-1-1 for the season.
In the first half, the Jumbos led the offense with most of the period in Wesleyan's zone.
In the 69th minute of play, junior Margaret Zahrah crossed the ball from the left side to be headed by senior Jess Capone, but it missed to the right side of the goal.
One of the biggest plays of the game was when Tufts sophomore Emily Bowers came out of the box and dived to get the ball, but bobbled it allowing Cardinal Sarah Sylla to shoot it towards the goal. Bowers came up from the ground and saved the ball off of her fingers to keep the game scoreless in the 99th minute.
Jumbo sophomore Taylor Koscho had a free kick in the center of the field and blooped the ball towards Capone to rifle a kick that would end up with a save by Wesleyan keeper Zoe Cassels-Brown in the 103rd minute.
The Jumbos won the shots battle by 17-8 while recording nine in the first half.
Bowers saved three shots from going in while Cassels-Brown made nine saves throughout the game.
Tufts, which received fifth place in the week two regional polls for New England according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), stays at home to play #9 ranked Brandeis on Saturday at 1 pm. The Cardinals finish out their three straight conference games with a Saturday matchup at Bates starting at 11 am.
