WATERFORD, Conn. – The Tufts University men's cross country team placed 16th out of 28 teams competing in the Connecticut College Invitational at Harkness Park.
The Jumbos totaled 370 points, 47 ahead of Ramapo and just three points behind Rochester. The race was made up of all schools from Division III in New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions. Williams College won the event with a team score of 47.
The top placers for Tufts were freshman Evan Ensslin who crossed the line at 25:56.4. That was good for 79th overall individually. Sophomore Sam Gatti crossed the line in 86th with a time of 25:59.1.
Sophomore Neerav Gade, junior Peter Horvath, sophomore Nick Delaney, sophomore John Pappo, and sophomore Collin O'Sullivan all placed for Tufts. Gade finished 92nd overall and was within tenths of a second from finishing in 89th with a time of 26:01.5. Horvath crossed the line with a time of 26:15.0, good for 114th. Delaney, Pappo, and O'Sullivan finished within 12 seconds of each other which placed them in 122nd, 145th, and 146th, respectively.
The Jumbos are next in action on November 2nd for the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship at Mount Greylock High School.
