SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – The Tufts University men's rowing team finished the fall portion of its schedule competing at the Head of the Fish Regatta on Saturday.
The Jumbos placed first in five races, including the novice eight in which they were in front of 18 other teams. Tufts finished with a 10:20.73 time over the 3,300-meter course on Fish Creek. Tufts' victorious eight included coxswain Logan McLennan, 8 Graeme McDonough, 7 Liam Jenkins, 6 Nick Kuranda,
5 Ryan Hankins, 4 Tom Muller, 3 Paul Fabrycky, 2 Drew Niles and 1 Alex Maykel.
Tufts also had the top three finishers out of eight in the Collegiate Single, with sophomore Henry Ross winning with a 12:56.47 time.
The Jumbo Open/Collegiate Quad team was first of eight boats in that race, timing 10:43.06. Tufts also won the 11-team Collegiate Double event with an 11:36.67 time. The brown and blue were also first in a small three-boat lightweight four competition (11:48.98).
In the varsity eight race the Jumbos were fifth of 16 (10:23.30). Tufts had two boats in the second varsity eight contest with a top finish of third among 11 total teams (10:36.31).
The 2019-20 Tufts rowing season will resume in the spring.
