CAMBRIDGE, MA (October 11, 2025) – The Tufts University Men's Rowing first varsity had the fastest time at the Head of the Kevin regatta on the Charles River today to begin their 2025-26 season.
Head coach
George Munger's team used the Head of the Kevin as a tune-up for the Head of the Charles Regatta next week.
"It gives our boats a chance to have a dry run of the course before we race it the following week," Coach Munger said. "That experience is helpful preparation during the higher stakes race."
Today's regatta features a mixture of collegiate, championship, club, master's, veteran and youth competitors in singles, quads and eights. Each of the 130 entries races the three-mile course individually. Tufts and MIT were the lone collegiate eight entries.

Aidan Keusch with
Vince Mezzanotte,
