Tufts improves to 3-0 with the win.  Lasell is now 0-5 after the setback.

The two teams traded layups to open play and then sophomore Tyler Aronson sunk back-to-back threes.  After a layup from the Lasers, junior Brennan Morris made back-to-back threes of his own and then Savage added another from downtown.  Sophomore Carson Cohen followed that with a layup and the Jumbos were ahead, 19-4, just about four minutes into the game.

With 11:13 left in the half and down 26-10 the Lasers got a layup from Brandon Vila, and then Kevin Vanderhorst and Stefan Masciarelli made back-to-back jumpers to cut the lead to ten, 26-16.  But the Jumbos answered with two layups from Rogers and another from Savage, and then Savage added a three to put the Jumbos ahead by 19, 35-16, with 7:18 left in the half.  The Jumbos would lead by as many as 25 during the first half, and took a 52-30 lead into the break.

The Lasers came out of the intermission and got a layup from Vanderhorst and then another from Kevin Nunez to cut the lead to 18.  But, that would be as close as they would get.

Savage finished the first half with 13 points, just one shy of the 1,000 point mark.  Just over six minutes into the second half he sunk a jumper to surpass the 1,000 point mark.

The Jumbos never let up in the second half, leading by as many as 32 on their way to a 96-65 win.

Morris led the offense with 23 points, including 6-of-8 from behind the arc.  Savage finished with 18 points and nine rebounds, to go along with five assists and a couple of steals.  Rogers added 16 points and ten boards, and now has a double-double in all three of the Jumbos games so far this year.  Aronson turned in 12 points and three assists.  The Jumbos got 22 points off the bench including six each from freshmen Dylan Thoerner and Casey McLaren.

Masciarelli led the offensive efforts for the Lasers with 24 points, and he also added five rebounds, four assists and two steals.  Vanderhorst added 12 points and eight rebounds.  Vic Collazo and Dylan Murray each added seven points.

The Jumbos are back in action when they host St. Josephs (CT) on Saturday for a 2 pm tip off.  Lasell takes the court again on Saturday as they host MIT with a 3 pm scheduled start.
