CAMBRIDGE – The 13th-ranked Williams College women's squash team won its ninth match in a row with a 9-0 victory over #19 Tufts University at Harvard on Sunday afternoon.
The Ephs, who have not lost since January 4 versus Dartmouth, improved to 12-3 overall. The Jumbos evened off at 5-5 on the season.
The most competitive match of the afternoon was in the ninth spot where Tufts freshman Abhilasha Bhasin won the first game against Kathryn Wright before the Eph rallied to win 10-12, 11-4, 11-6, 11-3.
All of the other matches were completed in three games. The closest of those came in the third spot where Tufts sophomore Diya Sanghi lost close 11-8, 11-8, 11-7 games to Williams' Melissa Swan.
Jumbos Claire Davidson in the #1 match and sophomore Natalie Bartlett in the seventh spot both scored 18 points against their opponents.
The Jumbos will travel to Amherst College on Friday night for a NESCAC match before opening the new Tufts Squash Center versus Connecticut College on Saturday.
