MEDFORD - It was a rainy afternoon when Tufts men's soccer met with Colby College on Saturday at Bello Field for a 1-1 draw.
The first half was a back-and-forth contest between the two NESCAC opponents and the opening score did not come until the 25
th minute of play. Tufts had control of the ball and was working it around through their back line when Ethan Franco of Colby was able to strip the ball off of a Jumbo defender. He got in behind one-on-one with Tufts GK
Erik Lauta and tucked the ball into the bottom right corner of the goal giving the Mules a 1-0 lead. The score remained this way for the rest of the half.

Tufts had a chance to even the score late in the first half of play with a shot coming from inside the box that hit a Colby defenders' hand. Tufts was awarded a penalty due to the hand ball. Brendan McCarthy stepped up big for the Mules with a save on the shot headed to the bottom corner.

The second half of play was another 45 minutes of hard-fought soccer. Tufts was able to get on the board when
Ethan Feigin took a shot from outside the box, and it was redirected by
Taylor Feinberg which caught the keeper going the wrong way and went into the net evening the score at 1-1. The rest of the game saw many chances for both sides trying to surpass the other, but neither side could add a second goal.

Tufts out-shot Colby 20-5 on the afternoon. Lauta for Tufts made one save in the match while Brendan McCarthy had five saves for the visitors. Tufts had 10 corners in the game while Colby was able to earn five of their own.

Tufts now holds a record of 3-2-4, 1-2-3 NESCAC, while opposite them Colby's record now stands at 2-1-6, 0-4-1.
Tufts will now prepare for their next match on Sunday against Trinity at 3 p.m. at Bello Field.
