MEDFORD - Junior
Walter Wagude of the Tufts University men's cross country team won a race for the second straight week and was named as the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Performer of the Week.
Competing at the Bates XC Shootout on Saturday, Wagude won with a  25:25.8 time that was 12 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. It's the best regular-season eight-kilometer time of his career.
He added Saturday's victory to a win at the five-kilometer Smith College Co-Ed Invitational in 15:47.6 on September 10 to open the season.
This is the second conference Player of the Week award for Wagude, who was also honored on September 13, 2021.
