BRUNSWICK, ME - Junior
Walter Wagude won for the third straight week and the Tufts men's cross country team was at the top of 12 teams overall at today's eight-kilometer Bowdoin Invitational.
Wagude's 25:09.6 time led Tufts' strong performance which featured its top seven runners all crossing the finish line among the top 11 individuals. Wagude adds today's win to firsts at the Smith Invitational and the Bates XC Shootout earlier this year. Today he was six seconds ahead of runner-up Anthony Rodriguez of Babson (25:15.7).
Tufts ran away with first place today compiling a 27 score. Host Bowdoin College was second at 53 and Suffolk University was third (92).
The Jumbos had five runners finish in a row shortly after Wagude. Sophomore
Ivan Appleton was fifth overall and second for the team with a 25:50.1 finish. Next to cross the finish line was sophomore
Martin Horne in sixth overall with a 25:53.8 time. A pair of freshmen rounded off the Jumbo scoring as
Luke Brennan's 26:00.3 was seventh overall and
Amokrane Aouchiche ran 26:02.8 for eight.

Oliver Printy was ninth overall and sixth for Tufts with a 26:14.0 mark. The seventh Jumbo finisher and 11th overall was junior
Ryan Proulx with a 26:32.8 effort. A total of 123 competitors completed the race.
Tufts will be idle next week leading up to the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships at Franklin Park on October 8.
