MIDDLEBURY, VT (October 21, 2023) – The #7 Tufts University field hockey team lost 6-0 at top-ranked Middlebury College in a NESCAC game on Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers remain unbeaten this fall at 14-0 overall and 9-0 in the league. Tufts drops to 10-4 (7-2 NESCAC). Middlebury maintains first place in the conference, while Tufts is now second.
Middlebury took an early lead as Amy Griffin scored her first of two goals in the game just 3:38 into the action. Her second goal with only 14 seconds to go in the first quarter put the hosts up 2-0.
The Panthers would lead 4-0 at the half after adding two more goals in the second quarter. Caroline Segal with 6:10 on the clock, and Katie Geroge with 2:28 remaining in the half tallied for Middlebury.
George recorded her second goal and Middlebury's fifth of the game a minute and a half into the third quarter. Audrey Lazar finished the day for the hosts scoring with just a minute and a half remaining in the fourth

Sophomore
Lydia Eastburn made 10 saves in the game for the Jumbos. KK Newton was not called on to make a save for Middlebury.
The Jumbos close their regular- and conference season on Tuesday at Bowdoin College.
