MIDDLETOWN, CT (February 16, 2023) – Tufts University's 800 freestyle relay set a new school record while finishing second in the opening event of the 2023 NESCAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at Wesleyan University tonight.

Armaan Sikka and sophomore
Eric Lundgren swam a 6:38.44 time in the 800 freestyle relay. The time replaces the 6:38.76 from last year's conference meet as the school record. Schreier and Lundgren were part of that foursome as well.
Tonight's time was second behind Williams College's 6:34.31 time that established the Wesleyan pool record. Connecticut College was third behind the Jumbos in a 6:39.82 mark.
Tufts was also second behind Williams in the B race of the 800 free relay.

Will Stearns and
Charlie Duffy combined on a 6:43.05 time, which scored 13th overall.
Both Jumbo marks tonight were under the NCAA 'B' cut of 6:45.00.
Tufts scored 78 points with their finishes, second behind Williams (90) in the team scoring. Amherst College is in third place with 72 points.
A busy Friday at the men's conference meet will see nine finals in the night session, which begins at 6:00 pm - the 200 freestyle relay, 50 breaststroke, 50 butterfly, 500 freestyle, 50 backstroke, 200 IM, 50 freestyle, one-meter diving and 400 medley relay. Preliminaries in the morning start at 10 am.
