GREENSBORO, NC (March 16, 2023) - The Tufts University 400 medley relay finished sixth to lead the Jumbos on the second day of the NCAA Division III Men's Swimming & Diving Championships Thursday.

Emmett Adams,
Ethan Schreier and
Peter LaBarge combined on a 3:16.13 time in tonight's 400 medley relay final for sixth place and All-American honors (top eight). It's the best relay finish for the Jumbo program at the national championship meet since the 200 freestyle relay was the runner-up in 2019.
In another solid relay performance tonight, Tufts was ninth in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:21.41 time. The foursome of
Will Stearns,
Armaan Sikka,
Charlie Duffy and LaBarge had the same time in the prelims when they were just 0.05 outside of making the championship final.
The Jumbos also had an honorable mention All-American finish of 14th by the freshman Sikka in today's 100 butterfly. His finals time was 47.94 seconds. Schreier narrowly missed making the consolation final in the event with a 48.34 preliminary mark that was 18th, just 0.07 behind the 16th-place time.
With their 49 team points scored today, the Jumbos have 65.5 through two days and are tied for 12th place with College of New Jersey.
On Friday, Tufts will compete in the 200 butterfly, 100 backstroke, 100 breaststroke and 800 freestyle relay. The meet runs through Saturday.
