HOPKINTON, NH (October 11, 2024) - Tufts Men's Cross Country placed 13th out of 21 teams at the 2024 New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association (NEICAAA) Championship held at the Hopkinton (NH) Fairgrounds this afternoon.
Tufts, one of just three Division III teams in the field, was resting their top lineup this week. Today's Jumbo group had their top five finishers compile a 334 score. Central Connecticut State University won the NEICAAA title with a team score of 38.
Competing primarily against Division I competition, Jumbo freshman
Aidan Max was 20th out of 207 finishers in the race with a 25:11.03 time. That was his best 8K of the season.
Sophomore
Harris Gulbransen scored 49th for the Jumbos in a 25:44.10 mark that was also the best time of his young career. Third for the Jumbos and 107th overall was sophomore
Sam Kurian, whose 26:53.24 was also a PR.Â
With a 27:01.28 time, sophomore
Simon Donovan was fourth for Tufts and 118th overall. Sophomore
Ryder Want was the fifth and final scorer for the Jumbos in 161st place with a 28:05.29 time.
Also in the top seven for Tufts today were senior
Jackson Kiefer (28:15.66) and junior
Matt Burdulis (28:26.26). Senior
Brady Colford and sophomore
Ben Stratton also ran for the Jumbos and finished with 28:54.61 and 29:19.81 times.
Ryan Slaney of Bryant University won the race in a 24:12.61 time.
The Jumbos run in their last regular-season meet before the Championships start with next Saturday's Connecticut College Invitational.
