CAMBRIDGE, MA (October 12, 2024) - In a dry run for next week's Head of the Charles Regatta, the Tufts University Men's Rowing first and second varsity eights were in action at the Head of the Kevin on the Charles River today.
The Tufts B boat - the second varsity eight - was the second team to start on the three-mile course today and took advantage of the good conditions to compile a 14:57.2 time. Part of the event is to compete against Head of the Charles gold medal standard times. For Men's College Eights the standard was 14:20, with the Tufts B time achieving a 95.9 percent score in their race. Amongst the regatta's 110 singles, doubles, fours and eights competitors where everyone is measured against their own standard, Tufts' mark was 11th best against its standard.

The Jumbo first varsity eight was the fifth team to race the river today and recorded a mark of 15:20.5. That was 93.4 percent of the 14:20 standard for a 27th-place ranking.
