Rees Tindall are third in A division leading the Tufts University coed sailing team to seventh place overall through Saturday's action at the Erwin Schell Trophy hosted by Yale University. The regatta is the fall New England Championship event.
In eight races on Saturday, Mueller and Tindall had six top-five finishes including a second in the fourth race and a third in the second race. Their 40 score for the day was third behind only Harvard University (21) and Roger Williams University (36).
The Jumbos' overall score of 125 is comprised of the 40 in A division and 85 in B division. Tufts won a tie-breaker (number of high-place finishes) over Dartmouth College to take seventh at the end of the day. Roger Williams leads in overall scoring through one day (21-41-62).
In B's, sophomore
Wyatt Bischoff skippered all eight races on Saturday with senior
Cindy Wang as crew for the first and second starts and senior
Leo Terry as crew in the third through eighth races. Bischoff and Terry were second in the final race of the day for their best performance.
Sunday's second day of racing will begin at 10:30 AM.
