KEENE, NH (October 5, 2024) – The Jumbo men's cross country team placed sixth out of 21 teams at the Keene State Invitational on Saturday afternoon.
Tufts split their squad for action on Saturday, with another group competing at the Paul Short Run in Pennsylvania. At Keene, a younger Tufts group compiled a 171 score and finished in the top-third behind just Williams, Eastern Connecticut, Plymouth State, Bridgewater State and UMass Dartmouth.
Leading Tufts in the 8K race today was sophomore
Harris Gulbransen who was 19th overall out of 237 total finishers with a 26:10.7 time. The second Jumbo to finish and crossing the finish line 27th overall was sophomore
Simon Donovan in a 26:33.5 mark.
Junior Will Cusato ran a 26:48.1 time for 33rd overall and third on the team. First-year
Lucas Chang had a good race to place among the top 50 in the 49th spot, (27:04.0), while sophomore
Ryder Want also scored for the Jumbos in just his second XC race. He was 77th (27:39.8) to round out the top five Tufts scorers.
Sophomore
Sam Kurian was the sixth Jumbo to finish as his 27:41.4 mark was 79th in the race. Senior
Brady Colford's 27:44.2 placed 82nd overall.
Also among the top 100 individually for the Jumbos was senior
Jackson Kiefer in his first-ever cross country start with a 28:01.4 mark. Sophomore
Ryan Regan had a 28:14.2 time today.
The Jumbos will be at the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championship next Saturday.
