ANNAPOLIS, MD (October 5, 2024) - Following Saturday's action, the Tufts coed sailing team is in 11th place out of 18 teams at an Atlantic Coast Championship qualifying regatta hosted by the U.S. Naval Academy.
The top nine teams after Sunday's second day of racing will advance to the Atlantic Coast Championship coming up later this month. The Jumbos will be looking to move up into qualifying position on Sunday. The ninth-place team is currently Penn with a 174 score, while Tufts in 11th has a 205 score.
For 10 races in the two divisions, the Jumbos compiled finishes totaling to 100 in A's ad 105 in B's on Saturday for their 205 score. Roger Williams University leads the regatta after one day with a 96 total.

Rees Tindall are 11th in their group after 10 races. They had top-nine finishes in their first four races today, including fourth in the opening race.
For B division, junior skipper
Clark Morris handled the first through sixth races today and sophomore skipper
Wyatt Bischoff took over for the seventh through 10th. Senior
Cindy Wang was crew for all 10 races. The Jumbos are 12th in B's. Bischoff and Wang earned a third-place finish in the second-to-last B race for Tufts' best performance of the day.
Racing on Severn River on Sunday is expected to start around 9:30 AM.
