MIDDLETOWN, CT (April 6, 2024) -- The No. 13 Tufts University men's tennis team won their third straight match over Division III opponents on Saturday, earning a 9-0 sweep of host Wesleyan University in action from Bacon Field House in New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) action.
The Jumbos won all three doubles matches, with
Vuk Vuksanovic and
Alex Ganchev moving to 4-2 on the season together with an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles.
Derin Acaroglu and
Mauricio Gutierrez teamed up to knock off Max Lustgarten and Harry Collomb 8-5 at No. 2, while
Sacha Maes and
Corey Marley stayed unbeaten at 6-0 on the year with an 8-4 win at No. 3 doubles.
After sweeping doubles, Vuksanovic outlasted JT Bilski at No. 1 singles with a rally of 4-6, 6-1, 7-6 win at the top position, while
Javier Gonzalez posted his ninth win of the 2023-24 season with a 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (5) decision at No. 2 singles.
Acaroglu chalked up his second win of the day on Saturday with a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, and Ganchev also topped Collomb in straight sets 6-4, 6-2 at No. 4 singles.
Garv Bahl topped Max Litton 6-2, 6-4 Saturday, and
Andrej Djokic upped his singles' record fo 9-4 this year with a 7-6, 6-1 win at No. 6 singles.
The Jumbos (6-5, 2-2 NESCAC) will head to Trinity College in Hartford at 2 p.m. for another NESCAC match.
