Jumbos 10th at Hatch Brown Trophy on Charles River

CAMBRIDGE, MA (September 14, 2024) - The Tufts University coed sailing team came in 10th place out of 18 teams at the Hatch Brown Trophy hosted by MIT on the Charles River Saturday.

The one-day, three-division regatta saw 10 races held in each group on Saturday. The Jumbos compiled scores of 70 in A's, 111 in B's and 109 in C's for a 290 team score. Yale University won the regatta with 54-49-25 scoring for a 128 team total.

The Tufts A division boat of junior skipper Ben Mueller with senior crew Rees Tindall were sixth in their group. They were second in the seventh race of the day and third in the fifth start for their best performances.

In B division, Tufts senior skipper John Eastman and senior crew Leo Terry came in 13th place. The Jumbo C division team was 12th, with senior skipper Shea Smith and senior crew Magdelaina Putnam earning a second-place finish in their fifth race of the day.
