Magdelaina Putnam as crew in A division, and senior skipper
Adrien Bellanger with junior crew Margaret Klein in B division had Tufts' top finish at the annual Hood Trophy hosted by the Jumbos out of Bacow Sailing Pavilion on Upper Mystic Lake this weekend. They were were a solid seventh out of 20 teams overall.
Tufts had four boats overall at the event overall, where 13 races were held in A and B divisions. The Jumbos 1 team finished with scores of 101 in A's and 122 in B's for a 223 total. They moved up for 10th place where they sat following Saturday's racing. Smith and Putnam won the final A division start on Sunday and finished fourth in A's. Bellanger and Klein also won a B division race on Sunday.
Tufts' Jumbos team 4 finished in 14th place (114-181-295), Jumbos 2 was 15th (134-173-307) and Jumbos 3 was 16th (179-145-324). Harvard University won the 2024 Hood Trophy with 70-64-134 scoring.

Amelia Traver, and a B division tandem of first-year skipper
Kiana Beachy with sophomore crew
Eloise Goedkoop.
Flores and Morikawa finished eighth in A division.
