CAMBRIDGE, MA (October 11, 2025) – The Tufts University Women's Rowing first varsity earned the second-fastest women's time at the Head of the Kevin regatta today on the Charles River.
As a beginning to their 2025-26 season, Tufts used the Head of the Kevin as a tune-up for the Head of the Charles Regatta next week.
"It gives our boats a chance to have a dry run of the course before we race it the following week," Director of Rowing
George Munger said. "That experience is helpful preparation during the higher stakes race."
Today's regatta features a mixture of women's and men's collegiate, championship, club, master's, veteran and youth competitors in singles, quads and eights. Each of the 130 entries races the three-mile course individually.
Tufts' primary collegiate competition today came from Boston College's club eight, which was the fastest women's team at a 16:56.6 time. The Tufts 1st varsity timed 16:57.0 for the three-mile course. They were second among women's teams and 11th overall for all entries.
The Tufts starters were coxswain

The Jumbo B team (second varsity) crossed the finish line in a 17:19.8 mark that was third among women's teams and 14th overall. The Boston College Club B eight recorded a 17:26.9 time.
