Coed Team Sails to 7th After One Day at New England Fall Championship

CAMBRIDGE, MA (October 25, 2025) – Tufts Coed Sailing is seventh out of 18 teams after Saturday racing at the 84th Professor Erwin Schell Trophy, emblematic of the New England Fall Championship.

Conditions allowed for eight races in both A and B divisions today. The Jumbos compiled finishes totaling to 64 in A's and 62 in B's for a 126 team total.

Freshman Pearse Dowd has skippered Tufts to fifth place in B division thus far. He was paired with junior crew Sean Beaver. They had five top 10 finishes in their eight races, including winning the sixth start.

For A division, senior Ben Mueller skippered with sophomore Kate Castleberry as crew. They are seventh through one day, with six top 10 scores. This Jumbo team won the fourth A race.

Yale University leads the regatta through six races with a 65 score.

Day two on Sunday begins with a first warning signal at 9:50 AM.
