MEDFORD, MA (November 25, 2025) - Six Tufts University players were announced as 2025 Academic All-District® Men's Soccer Team members, as selected by the College Sports Communicators organization (CSC). The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Seniors
Mateo Bargagna,
Ben Pensky,
Henry Perkins and
Daniel Yanez along with juniors
Ben Brown and
Xavier Canfin are the Tufts recipients. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be an All-Conference caliber player who is a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale). Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 90 percent of the team's games or started at least two-thirds of the team's contests. Yanez earns this honor for the second straight season.

Kyle Dezotell's Tufts team that won the NESCAC championship this fall. The Jumbos (18-1-3) were the #1 team in the final NPI rankings and will be playing in the NCAA Division III Tournament "Final Four" in Salem, Virginia on December 5.
The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Certain Academic All-District® recipients are selected by a committee to advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on December 16.
