Perkins, Yanez Selected to Academic All-America® Men's Soccer Team

MEDFORD, MA (December 16, 2025) – Seniors Henry Perkins and Daniel Yanez of the NCAA Champion Tufts University men's soccer team have earned 2025-26 Academic All-America® men's soccer team honors as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC) and announced today.

The award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Perkins and Yanez are on the Academic All-America® second team in Division III, making Tufts the only school in the nation with two players on the first two teams. On a list of 33 total recipients, Tufts is one of just three schools with multiple honorees.

Perkins and Yanez were offensive leaders of a 2025 Tufts team that had one of the best seasons in NCAA Division III history. Head coach Kyle Dezotell's Jumbos were the #1 seed in NESCAC for the regular-season, won the NESCAC Tournament championship, entered the post-season as the #1 team in the NPI rankings and then won the NCAA Division III Championship. The Jumbos' 20-1-3 final record tied for the most wins in school history.

A biopsychology major with a 3.99 grade point average, Perkins was a Jumbo co-captain who scored five goals and six assists to tie for second on the team with 16 points. The six assists were tied for the third-most in NESCAC. A three-time NESCAC All-Academic Team honoree and two-time NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Team recipient, Perkins also carries minors in chemistry of life and German.

Yanez, a 3.92 student as an economics major, was also a co-captain who finished the season with five goals and two assists for 12 points. He was a United Soccer Coaches All-Region and NESCAC All-Conference second-team selection for 2025. Named to CSC's Academic All-District® Team last year and a three-time NESCAC All-Academic Team member, Yanez has earned minors in finance and entrepreneurship.

This marks the first time since 2021 that Tufts has placed anyone among the prestigious Academic All-America® men's soccer team.
