MEDFORD, MA (December 4, 2025) -- The Tufts University men's soccer team is preparing for the NCAA Final Four this weekend, but the Jumbos picked up more individual honors this week as Tufts saw five players earn United Soccer Coaches accolades with the release of the 2025 All-America and All-Region teams.
Tufts saw juniors
Bijan Akhtarzandi-Das and
Xavier Canfin honored as USC All-America Fourth Team picks, while senior goalkeeper
Nikola Antic, junior forward
Henry Brown and senior midfielder
Daniel Yanez were also All-Region performers.
Akhtarzandi-Das picked up his first national honor as a junior, as he was named as a NESCAC First Team selection this fall. He was the lynch pin of the defensive unit in the center, as he was part of a defense that allowed just 11 goals. That was tops in the NESCAC. He also was an All-Region 1 First Team pick. Antic was a First Team All-Region honoree as well, as he comes into the weekend with a NESCAC-high 11 shutouts this year.
Canfin is the team's leading scorer with seven goals and six assists, as he was picked as an All-Region 1 First Team player as well as a All-NESCAC First Team pick. Canfin has been crucial to the team's offensive unit, which leads the NESCAC in goals per game with 2.41. Brown was named as an All-Region 2 Second Team honoree as he has seven goals on the year, and was an All-NESCAC First Team pick as well after transferring in this season from St. Lawrence University.
Yanez was selected to the All-Region 1 Second Team as a senior, as he scored five goals on the season including netting all five from the penalty spot. All five goals were game-winners, as he added two helpers as well on the season.
Tufts will take on St. Olaf College Friday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the NCAA Semifinals.
