MALDEN, MA (December 6, 2025) – Jackson Holl scored with 6:49 left in regulation to give visiting Bowdoin College a 3-2 win at Tufts University in a NESCAC men's hockey game today at Valley Forum.
With the score tied at 2-2, Bowdoin's Justin Wright pressured the Jumbos deep in their own end to force the puck free. Holl picked it up on the outside edge of the left circle, went in on goal and pulled the pack across the goal mouth to score the eventual game-winner.
The Jumbos pulled goalie
Tade Carman for an extra skater with two minutes remaining in the third period. Tufts put heavy pressure on the Polar Bears, but goalie Jacob Osborne made a pair of saves to help lock down the victory.
Bowdoin, ranked 13th in this week's U.S. College Hockey Online poll, improved to 6-1-1 overall and remained unbeaten in NESCAC at 4-0-1. The Jumbos, who are receiving votes in this week's poll, fell to 4-4-1 and 2-4 in the conference.
Tufts, who saw freshmen score both of their goals, had tied the game at 2-2 in the second period.
Colby Dobek took the puck in his own end and dashed up the left side. Moving in on goal with a defender at his shoulder, Dobek smashed a shot past Osborne at 11:21 of the period.
Dennis Davidson had scored his second goal in as many days to give the Jumbos an early 1-0 lead.
Jonathan Horn took the puck in his own end and gave it to
Cole Dubicki in the neutral zone. Dubicki sent it back to Horn entering the Bowdoin zone and he moved it up to Davidson charging to the net on the right side. His first shot was saved, but he cleaned up the rebound at 9:26 for the Jumbo lead.
However, the Polar Bears would finish the period with the lead. Less than two minutes after the Tufts goal, Finnegan Burke kept the puck in the Tufts end in the middle of the blue line and passed right to Pierre Larocque. He sent the puck down to Bryce Bollman at the right side of the goal and Bollman knocked it in to tie the game at 11:12 of the first.
With less than 30 seconds remaining in the opening period, Wright won a face-off to the right of Carman. Jayson Alegria took the puck and went in on goal, making a move to put one past Carman and give Bowdoin a 2-1 advantage with just 20 seconds remaining in the period.
Osborne was solid in the Bowdoin net, making 28 saves for the win. The Jumbos outshot the Polar Bears 30-23. Carman had 20 saves in his first start of the year.
This was the last game of the fall semester for both squads, who will return to action in early January.
