MEDFORD (March 18, 2025) -- Tufts University women's basketball senior
Sofia Gonzalez had her best season as a Jumbo in 2024-25, and for her efforts was named as a D3hoops.com All-Region 1 Second Team performer Tuesday afternoon.
Gonzalez was the top scorer for the Jumbos this season after tallying 13.4 points per game, but her all-around game for Tufts is what shined through. Gonzalez ranked second on the Jumbos in rebounding with 6.0 per game, 14th in the league, while finishing fifth in the league in three-pointers made with 48.
The senior guard from California also was second in the NESCAC in steals with 58. In conference play, Gonzalez was fifth in three-point shooting, making 36.4 percent of her triples, and had the most steals in league play with 23.
Tufts finished the season 15-11, appearing in the NCAA Tournament First Round.
