CAMBRIDGE, MA (March 29, 2025) - The Tufts University men's rowing team started its spring season with four races on the historic Charles River Saturday. The Jumbos faced the Harvard University Lightweight team and Bates College in first, second and third varsity races, and just Bates in a fourth varsity contest.
Cold and rain made for very difficult conditions on the Charles today, with variable cross tailwinds and heavy chop. Floating starts were managed with course distances between 1900m and 2000m.
In the IRCA/IRA Men's Collegiate Rowing Preseason Poll that came out this week, Tufts was #2 in the D3 varsity eight rankings with Bates tied for #7. Harvard is the #1-ranked D1 Lightweight 8+.
